My Coolpix 8800 as already documented has been problematical.

Having relied on my 5200 all weekend, on the last site of Sunday I began getting the message "lens error" and the wee beastie not cooperating full stop.

A trip to Jessops: the 8800 will cost minimum £200 to investigate and repair; the 5200 has a zapped motor.

Replacing is imperative.

With my current budget I will aim at the Canon PowerShot SX10 I think. I love the fold out movable screen.

I will likely purchase new camera online later on Thursday, so any tips, pointers etc in the meantime, please say so.

RIP my 8800 and 5200. Both worked fantastically for me... and for the moment all I have is my camera phone! *feels very insecure*
